bugs and insects

You've got to love these creepy crawlers. All kinds of sizes, shapes, and colors. Isn't nature wonderful?!

Garden Praying Mantis, August 21, 2021

Found this critter hanging out in a pine tree sapling I have growing in my garden. Had the 150-600mm zoom lens on the camera and decided to give it a try. He was nice enough to remain still for the portrait shot. Update: Click here to see him feeding on a Mud Dauber wasp on August 23, 2021.

Cicada Carcass, October 3, 2020

It doesn't get much creepier than these things hanging onto your front yard trees.

Garden spider feeding, August 26, 2020

They certainly can't live on love alone!

Garden spider, August 23, 2020.

Argiope or Black and Yellow Garden Spider protecting my herb garden.

Bee on close approach, June 27, 2019

Shot in Ocean City, Md., demonstrates the beauty of digital--just keeping shooting until you get it!

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, August 2, 2012.

The Virginia state insect. Shot in my backyard garden.

Please let others know that you found something really cool on my website.
